A little bit of history
In 2005 Leukaemia & Blood Cancer NZ (LBC) launched an original and unique fundraising event, the Golf Marrowthon®100 Hole Challenge. The event, held first in Auckland, saw bold golfers take to the course to play 100 holes of golf in one day. The inaugural Marrowthon was a huge success raising over $130,000 for LBC.
The inaugural Christchurch Golf Marrowthon was held in 2007 at Clearwater Resort and was again hugely successful, raising over $100,000 and featured a stellar field of players , including Sir Bob Charles, Robbie Deans, Nathan Astle and Chris Harris.
Subsequent events have been in held in Auckland, Tirau, Taupo and Christchurch over the years.
To date, combined the Marrowthon's have raised over an incredible $850,000 for LBC.
