3 marathons...and a Marrowthon!
This year will be my 2nd Marrowthon and I can't wait until November 12th! Spending the day playing (bad) golf sounds great to the uninitiated, but make no mistake, 100 holes really is a challenge...especially when it involves wearing a figure hugging, lycra Batman suit!
However, this will never be as much of a challenge as those with Leukaemia face on a daily basis. The money you donate will go to provide patients and their families with the support they need and deserve.
This year I am running the Auckland and Sydney marathons, as well as a 42k offroad ball breaker called "The West Coaster" - all to raise money for LBF. So if you think the Golf Marrowthon is too easy...at least get your wallet out for my poor old feet!
A huge thank you to those who have sponsored me...and those about to! |

This will be my first attempt at the Golf Marrowthon and I am looking forward to contributing to such a worthy cause. 100 holes in one day is a challenge for me, but it can't be compared with the challenge of living with leukemia. I'll be the one popping open the champagne at the end of the day! |

I am playing in this as our friend Jack has had a bone marrow transplant and has been living with Muliple myeloma for over 15 years
I have been thinking about it for the last couple of years and have decided to take the plunge - so to speak ! I hope my body stands up to 100 holes of golf in 1 day
I am a keen golfer at Auckland Golf club and am hoping to entice a few members and friends to sponsor me |

Hi "dippo" here. Well this is my first marrowthon & I thought I'd drag my mate G'wah Braidwood along for the ride as we're both mad about golf & 100 holes sounds like a crazy day not to be missed. Let me break that down for you, we are walking more than 28kms, swinging a club over 600 times all in 12 hours in an effort to get YOU yes YOU to sponsor me to raise as much money (or at least more than Greg) for the Leukaemia & Blood Foundation.
So dig deep, share the love & the coin for a great cause!. |

Hi, Welcome to my fundraising page.
I thought it was about time to get off my butt and do something for someone other than me and raise a bit of money for an excellent cause. And what better way to do it than by playing golf ! Though with the way I am playing at the moment it could be a really long day...
No doubt everyone knows someone who has been touched by Leukaemia, so it should be no problem to stump up with a little bit of the folding stuff to help out.
So please help me out with my endevour and make a contribution. Cheers, Kim |

Hi- thanks for taking the time to look at my event page. My connection with the aims and objectives of the LBF, ie to fund research to find a cure for leukaemia and other blood related illnesses, as well as provide patient support, was as a consequence of the death of my late wife Pauline from multiple myeloma in July 1993. I would appreciate your support for this worthwhile cause...... |

Hi and greetings to my fundraising web page,
After battling with Cancer for 15 years personally.

Thank you in anticipation, Mark |

I see a lot of good fund raising causes and this is one that with out doubt that needs yours and my support.
I know 100 holes of golf in one day sounds a little crazy - but i'm up for the challenge! So because its such a great cause I am going to something a little different! I am confident that my friends and colleagues will want me not only to play 100 holes of golf and at the same time part with my money so I have decided that for every dollar sponsored that I will also match that dollar so that the Leukaemia & Blood Foundation will benefit twice as much!
I want to raise as much as possible but it dosent end there as I'm looking forward to having a lot of fun.
This is such a great cause that I urge you to assist
Thanks for that.

This is my first Marrowthon, my mate Dippo (give him money too!) & I thought we'd give it a whirl for a great cause and see if 100 holes on the links in one day will do wonders to our golf game...hmm, we'll see! One thing I can guarantee is that the cold beer at the end will certainly hit the spot! So open your wallets and back me for 100 holes and more importantly the LBF. |

I have been playing golf on and off now for 5 years. Actually......playing may be an exaggeration....I swing at the ball with focused determination. On the odd occasion I make contact.....celebrate with a mc hammer dance....gather my concentration, cross my toes (which is difficult when dancing) and try again. When I'm not playing golf I work at A2B Car Rentals as General Manager. I am married to a very supporting, understanding and patient lady Deirdre, who is looking forward to picking me up at midnight after finishing 100 holes in one day! This cause is a very worthy one and this is the second time i have had the privledge of being invloved with Leukaemia and blood foundation, so please support me raising funds for patients and families. |

This is a great cause and I hope lots of people get behind us.
Thanks for the opportunity to Make A Difference.

Hi, I'm a nine-hole golfer with the Te Awamutu Golf Club who took up the game eight years ago (thanks Trish) but due to lack of practice and ability haven't really improved. However I am keenly interested in playing my third Marrowthon as I have leukaemia and want to help LBF. I thank God and the medical scientists for the miracle of Glivec, a benign drug that keeps me in remission, and my brother Ross (a good golfer) for his bone marrow. Looking forward to the 'big day out' at Aviation with daughter Emma and hopefully Trish. |

This is my 4th attempt at the marrowthon. Each time I try and make the task a little bit harder for some stupid idea. The first two events I did in carts and last time I walked the course, carrying my clubs at the Tirau golf club. This time it is at the Aviation golf club which is 30% longer.
I am the CEO of Fidelity Life and we have been proud to support the LBF over the last 5 years,it is a great cause.I look forward to plenty of support this year from family, friends and work associates to nail a good sponsorship total. |

Nothing like a good cause to force you beyond the pain barrier, and believe me, after 100 holes I will be in a world of pain.
Hi Evan here, Clarks Beach member and world reknown hacker.
What better way to dull out the pain of Northland’s potential relegation than 100 holes of golf! STOP THE DROP!
The costume for the day is a work in progress; however the level of embarrassment I’ll put my self through will be directly related to your donations – so please give generously.

It's widely known that I talk a better golf game, than my skill level warrants! During the day I work in the car industry, but it's quiet at the moment leaving plenty of time to practice! A self confessed golf tragic, I thought I was mad when I once played 45 holes of golf in one day, in Hamilton, Tirau and Rotorua - but this is another level of crazy! Seriously though, what better way to raise money and what a great cause! |

Gareth O'Loughlin
Hi my name is Gareth O'Loughlin, Im playing in the Golf Marrowthon to help raise money for this cause and to make people aware of how many people suffer from it. I hope to use this event tp help out as much as I can. Playing a 100 holes in a day is a huge effort, but nothing compared to people and their familys that suffer from leukaemia.

Steve Reck is one of the founders of www.TeeItUpNZ.com, New Zealand’s premier online community for golfers. TeeItUpNZ.com's vision is to be the most convenient, best value option for golfers looking to play more golf. Our daily communication with the golfing community will allow you to point, click and enjoy your golf (at least until you get to the first tee). We encourage New Zealanders to play more golf through our site so we might as well stand by it and play 100 holes in a day. Steve is a late entry to the event, but enthusiastically looking forward to supporting the Leukemia and Blood Foundation while testing his endurance, if not his patience. |
