Steve Richens
Hi, I'm Steve Richens. I have played golf for some years now, and this seemed a great way to have a fun day out whilst also raising money for a very good cause. I hope you will support me. |

I am delighted to support such a worthwhile cause and the 100 hole golf challenge sounds exciting, having played the time trial for one hole recently (I had a time of 1 minute 46 seconds for a par four) I am glad to hear we will be using carts for the 100 hole event. I will be in the U.K. playing cricket for the U.K. summer and would appreciate any sponsorship support you can give me for the Marrowthon.

Lloyd Gallop
10 years ago my brother Kevin died of Leukeamia at the young age of 46. I am intimately aware of the grief and the immense stress placed on family members and the patients themselves as we all come to terms with Leukeamia, the treatment and the support needed to cope.
I am also aware of the importance of the support services (staff) that was provided to our family and Kevin as we went through this very tough (and in our case) tragic experience.
I am very excited about giving something back to the Leukeamia & Blood Foundation to support the funding for their staff services on the ground in Christchurch. These services are critical to helping everyone involved (family and patients) to understand the condition, treatment and other support services which are available.
Please support me to help the Leukeamia & Blood Foundation raise the funds needed to provide these services in Christchurch by sponsoring $1 (minimum) per hole in the October Marrowthon (100 Holes). |

Steve Surridge
Hi all. I am excited at the prospect of playing in the Marrowthon golf tournament. Not only will I receive some much needed golfing practice, but I get the opportunity to raise funds for an extremely important charity. Leukaemia can strike anyone at anytime and is a disease we need to learn more about. LBF does a great job raising the profile and providing support for patients and their families and friends. It is a privilege to help seek funding for LBF. You can help LBF care for Leukaemia patients and provide support for their family and friends, all by sponsoring an old broken down rugby player. Your sponsorship will be gratefully accepted and I will do everything I can to complete the 100 holes in the day. Thank you.

Thanks for taking the time to check this out.
Apart from the fact that my game needs all the work it can get this is a really worthwhile cause.
Be generous!

Antony Dale
Hi I'm Antony (A.D) Dale. I learnt about the Marrowthon from a pamphlet at another fundraiser that I participated in, it was an inspiring and emotional weekend, and gave me the motivation that I needed to do my bit for those less fortunate than myself. I have been playing golf for 20 of my 33 years of existence, but have never undertaken such an event. I look forward to having a crack at it and playig more golf in a day than I do in a normal month. |

Geoff Alexander
I am joining Lloyd Gallop on this really fun day to help raise funds for this magnificent cause. Lloyd's brother Kevin (who died of Leukaemia) was my brother in law and a very special friend. I feel privileged to be part of this drive for funds and will welcome your contribution to my efforts. A $1 a hole (x 100 holes) would certainly be a great start... |

Milson Thevenard
My name is Milson Thevenard and I am employed by Qantas Airways as Manager Southern New Zealand, based in Christchurch. I am honoured be have been invited to participate in the Marrowthon. My best mate's wife is currently undergoing treatment for Lymphoma so I am acutely aware of the need for the Leukaemia & Blood Foundation and the great work they do.
Having had a second hip replacement (on the same leg!!) in December I know this will not be a "walk in the park" but I am determined to be in peak physical shape and encourage you to support me in this endeavour. |

I am very excited about playing in the 100 hole Marrowthon Golf challenge at Clearwater. A very close friend of mine died of Leukeamia aged 35 leaving her husband and young son aged 4. Through this tragic experience I know the importance of the patient and family support which these funds raised will provide here in Christchurch. So through supporting me ($1.00 per hole x 100 minimum) you will be helping a lot of people who need it. "Just do it" |

Helping people with illness and playing golf - two of my favourite things!
I have been a pharmacist for 20 years and have seen many people struck down with all sorts of diseases. The effect of this disease on the person and their family is obviously devastating. So this is a small way of contributing to a very worthwhile cause, while playing the best game in the world! |

Paul Morrow
Hi, my name is Paul Morrow and I am excited about supporting the Leukaemia and Blood Foundation through participating in the Golf Marrowthon. I love to play golf but as I have four young children I have limited opportunity to play. This way I get to play a lot of golf in one day, plus support a worthy charity. |

John Botha
Hi everyone and thanks for taking the time to check up on me. I aim to complete all 100 holes on the 9th of October and raise awareness for the foundation. All sponsors big or small greatly appreciated.
Thanks a million, JohnB |

I am a 33 years old truck driver and at the age of 29 I was diagnosed with Folicullar Lymphoma. My specialist, Nigel Paton started me on chemotheraphy, which didn't work and so I was also started on Mabthera, this unfortunately did not work either. I had planned a holiday to Fiji with a friend and Nigel Paton suggested that I go and enjoy it, he would work on what was going to happen next. By the time I got back a Bone Marrow Transplant operation was planned thanks to my younger sister who was a compatable donor. This proved successful. |

Carl Harrington
Hi, I am Carl Harrington from Harringtons Brewery in Christchurch. I am fortunate to have two healthy teenage boys and I am offering my support to raise funds for marrowthon so families that are going through leukaemia can benefit from my help.
P.S. And I like golf! |

I am supporting this great cause with my very good friend Pete Davies. The Leukaemia support here in Christchurch is essential for both patients and their families as they face very significant challengers. I am excited about being involved in this marvelous event which will directly benefit so many people when they most need it. By sponsoring me to play 100 holes in a day you are directly supporting the health and well being of Leukeamia patients and their families ... so pay up now ... press the "sponsor me" button and you will renew our friendship for another 12 months. |

Pete Davies
This is such a good (local) cause and I am very pleased to be part of it . I challenge all my friends, family and espresso "nuts" to sponsor me for the 100 hole golf marrowthon. Your help and support will ensure the success of the day and the ultimate objective of funding a local Leukaemia nurse here in Christchurch to support Leukaemia patients and their families through very tough and challenging times. ($1.00 a hole would be a great start). Don't be short and don't be late. |

Hi, some describe me as golf enthusiast/lawyer (in that order would be nice!). I am a Partner in National Law Firm, Duncan Cotterill and a Board member of Clearwater Golf Club. A school friend of mine was President of Canteen and he died of leukaemia 3 years after finishing university - I'm in this for you AR. |

The ANZ National Bank's commitment to the community extends to support their staff to complete at least one days community work each year. This provides up to 10,000 community work days in New Zealand every year. I chose this event as not only could I provide my time but additionally I could raise funds for this essential service based here in Christchurch. |

Robbie Deans
I am fortunate enough to have witnessed the benefit of quality care and support services in a challenging arena.
The Marrowthon event is quite simply a way of contributing and hopefully making a difference to many people for a good cause. |

Four years ago I was diagnosed with Leukaemia. Whilst I am now in remission, it is an incredibly difficult thing for someone and their family to go through. Support provided by organisations like the Leukaemia & Blood Foundation is invaluable. When I heard about the Marrowthon, I jumped at the chance to be involved. Not only could I get involved in a fun, unique event, but I could help to raise money to give a little back to those that helped me through.
Please be generous in your support, as the Leukaemia & Blood Foundation is generous with theirs.

This is a great cause to be part of. I had a very special friend and mentor die of leukaemia a while ago so I know the importance of the LBF's support services here in Christchurch to family and friends. I am delighted to be part of this exciting and unique 100 Hole Golf Marrowthon challenge. I encourage my family, friends and business colleagues to sponsor me and/or play on the day. |

Alan Calder
What a great idea (I think) - play five and a half rounds of golf in one day - and raise money for a great cause.
The Leukaemia & Blood Foundation provides essential services for the 6 patients diagnosed with leukaemia or blood related conditions every day and their families across New Zealand. I'd really love it if you could help me to help them. |
|
Stu Roberts
I want to be involved in the event because Christchurch is the centre for Leukaemia and Bone Marrow care for the whole South Island, the event is to raise funds for a full time liaison person to assist parents, family and friends through traumatic times. It is an incredible worthy cause and I am proud to be associated with it. |

Daniel Fitzpatrick
Hi everyone, and thanks for taking the time to read this. Seven years ago I had Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma -Cancer. I am now completely cured. But I was very blessed to have a lot of help from others to get me through. So I am excited to help raise money for this great cause, as support through a time of illness is hugely important for the patient and their family… Make a difference and contribute to help make a difficult time a little easier! Thank you! |

Reon Edwards
Having been in other charity events in the past, I get a real "buzz" being able to help out and make a difference to those in need. I encourage all my mates and family to support me in this really important day ... i.e. give me your money!!!! |

Jeff Root
Hi all. Yes you may think this is "madness" to try and play 100 holes of golf in one day, and I thought the same until I was made aware of what LBF undertake with the lack of resource available to them. Then I realised what "madness" truly is and 100 holes of golf seems easy in comparison. Let's help these guys get the resources they need and help them to help the people who desperately need our assistance. |

Rob Root
Hi, I've decided to do this crazy thing but it's all for a great cause. The Leukaemia & Blood Foundation provides essential services for the 6 patients diagnosed with leukaemia or blood related conditions every day and their families across New Zealand. I'd really love it if you could help me to help them. I know some of you have played golf with me and you will know 100 HOLES in a day will be a great effort even by my standards. |

Barry Johnston
As a passionate golfer and resident (and club captain) at Clearwater I am thrilled to be participating in this great event on my home course. I am a regular speed golfer and have played 72 holes in a day, 100 holes will be an added challenge. I have two special friends who have leukaemia which gives me a real passionate reason for supporting this great cause. |

Jason Macgregor
Hi, I'm Jason Macgregor and I am an Executive Director at Ernst &Young. I'm a keen golfer so the challenge to participate in Marrowthon and complete 100 holes in one day was too good to pass up. To do it for such a great cause just makes it even more worthwhile. It is a privilege to have the opportunity to raise funds for this cause so I would appreciate your help and donations to ensure that the Leukaemia and Blood Foundation receives the best result possible. Cheers, Jason. |

Ben Willems
I'm Ben Willems and I am a Partner at Ernst & Young. I'm dusting off the golf clubs to support the Leukaemia and Blood Foundation. I encourage all my family, friends and business associates to support me in completing 100 holes for this wonderful cause. |

I am proud to be supporting the Leukaemia & Blood Foundation through participation in the 100 Hole Golf Marrowthon. It will be a tough ask to get through 100 holes of golf in day, especially given I have found the Clearwater course somewhat unforgiving in the past. I hope my hockey player golf swing gets me out of more trouble than it usually gets me into on the day. However, this challenge is but a drop in bucket compared to the one facing many with leukaemia and other blood related conditions on a daily basis. I gratefully accept your generosity on behalf of this worthy cause. |

Tim May
Hello, my name is Tim May and I am really looking forward to getting involved in such an interesting and worthwhile event. About six years ago now, my father passed away after having battled leukaemia for a number of years and finally succumbing. I know that he would have loved to have joined me in doing something mad like trying to play 100 holes of golf in a day, and so I will be doing this one for him and at the same time hoping to raise money to support this amazing cause. Please support us as we try to minimise the impact of this terrible disease on people’s lives. |

Mike Gainsford
I am delighted to be part of this special day in supporting the Leukaemia & Blood Foundation. I lost a young cousin to Leukaemia 2 weeks ago. I know the significance of having a local support person that this 100 Hole Golf Marrowthon day is all about. By sponsoring me you will be directly helping fund our local Canterbury Support nurse. 100 Holes in a day at Clearwater will be quite a challenge but it could not be for a better cause. |

I am delighted to support this great cause as it represents a significant benefit to Canterbury by funding a support Nurse for leukaemia patients (and their families) here in Christchurch. It will be a fun and very challenging 100 holes in a day at Clearwater. I hope that you will support the Leukeamia & Blood Foundation by sponsoring me to play on the day ... $1.00 a hole would be sensational. |
