Auckland Golf Marrowthon® 2006

38 golfers hit the ton in several ways in the second Golf Marrowthon - by completing 100 holes of golf in a day and raising a whacking $100,000!

The golfers sped around the course on their Four Star Golf Cruisers clocking up new records. Richard Fong of Regency Duty Free for the second year running led the field and was the first golfer home.

The record-breaking fundraiser was Mark Vidak of Holden NZ Ltd who raised $10,000 for his Marrowthon efforts.

The Blues Brothers 'on a mission' won the best-dressed category although we are not sure if those dark suits were quite made for Marrowthon golf?  Despite the heat of the day they staunchly played on in the beating sun.

Hilary Barry from TV3 and Maree Lawson were the only women Marrowthoners on the day.  Hilary said “I had such a fantastic day playing in the LBF Golf Marrowthon.  I have to admit I hadn't realised how difficult it was going to be, by hole 71 we were fast running out of time.  Thankfully we finished just before dark, exhausted but with a real sense of achievement.  Thanks to everyone who sponsored me too, it was a delight to challenge myself for the sake of such a wonderful cause."
